Georgeham
Georgeham is a charming Devon village and the place where author Henry Williamson wrote "Tarka The Otter." It is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just one and a half miles inland from the lovely sandy beach at Putsborough and the South West Coast Path.
The National Cycle Network Route 27 passes through Georgeham.
Georgeham itself has everything a village needs to thrive - an excellent shop and Post Office, two great pubs and a vibrant parish church.

The Parish Map
On the south wall of the Nave of St. George's Church is a tapestry map of Georgeham Parish which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the founding of the DFWI. This was unveiled in July 1995. The stitching took more than 3,000 hours to complete and was achieved by the cooperation of around 70 Georgeham and Croyde artists and embroiderers, including children from Georgeham Primary School. The map was one of only 30 to be selected from the whole of the UK by 'Common Ground' for an exhibition at The Barbican in London.
